Description:

Adani Education Trip

   (26th -27th  March, 9th-10th April 2016)

The Institute of Computer Technology had organized the education trip for 116 Students who were   accompanied by 6 Faculties. The trip  was to the Adani Industries suited in Mundra Port, Kutch. This trip was arranged in two phases. In first phase was scheduled on 26th-27th March 2016 and 78 students were attended with 4 faculties. The second phase was arranged on 9th -10th April 2016 and  38 students were attended with 2 faculties.

The visit was started at noon on first day of the trip , first we visited the Adani port. The Port is the largest private port of India located on the north shores of the Gulf of Kutch near MundraKutch districtGujarat. Formerly it was operated by Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Limited (MPSEZ) owned by Adani Group which later it was expanded into Adani Ports & SEZ Limited (APSEZ) managing several ports.

In 2013-2014, Mundra Port has handled 100 million tonnes of cargo in a year becoming the first Indian port to do so. It also became India's biggest port by cargo handled.

Than we visited Adani Willmar, there the manufacture of edible oils is being done and we

Saw the processing and packaging of the oil.

Than on the next day we visited the Adani power. Adani, a global conglomerate with a presence in multiple businesses across the globe, has entered the power sector to harbinger a ‘power full’ India. Our comprehension of the criticality in meeting the power requirement and its crucial role in ensuring the energy security of India, spurred us to build India’s largest and among the world’s top 5 single location thermal power plant at Mundra.

The overall trip was fantastic. We were able to learn a lot out of this.

The plant is fully automated. Students were amazed at the speed at which the process occurred and how the automated systems could work according to the requirements. The industrial visit to Adani Port was an enriching experience for students in getting live exposure of manufacturing which can help them in their internships and further career enhancements.
