More than learning the fundamentals, to remain ahead of the curve and close to what industry needs from entering professionals it is important to focus on the areas that have emerged at the forefront in this industry like, Cloud Computing, Big Data & Analytics, Mobility, Social Media and Information Security.
Right set of skills that IT industry needs and better prospects of working with the leading organizations in this industry on cutting edge technology and projects. The curriculum of the courses has been designed jointly by university and IBM based on the industry requirements. Students who have gone through such specializations will tend to fast track their technology based learning and induction when they join various organizations. Work on the cutting edge tools and technologies from IBM that are used by most of the organizations including Fortune 500 and IT services companies. Students may also have the opportunity to visit IBM offices/centres from time-to-time for live industry experience. Students will have access to various IBM online communities for additional study material and resources to interact with experts & participate in discussions. Joint certification from IBM and the university is given to the students at the completion of the course.
The curriculum of these programs has been jointly developed with IBM on various industry specializations, based on the skills requirements of various organizations across the world including Banks, Computer Services, Education, Healthcare, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail and other industries. The curriculum has an innovative mix of subjects of core computer science engineering, enterprise software and specialization areas. The mix addresses that students are well versed with core computer science engineering and other foundational skills and can clearly articulate their career goals and the purpose of pursuing the program. To keep the curriculum abreast as per the industry needs, a joint coordination committee has been setup with members from the university and IBM that frequently reviews and makes recommendation to the Board of studies regularly. For specialization subjects, the courseware is provided directly by IBM.
The university has setup an IBM Software Lab for Emerging Technologies where students and faculty members will have access to all the relevant IBM Software for courses. IBM through its academic initiative program will provide current software for education purposes including IBM Rational, IBM DB2, IBM Cognos, IBM Worklight, IBM Infosphere and more. In this Lab, IBM experts will be actively involved to teach students face to face to ensure that the knowledge and skills are imparted effectively. Students will also gain experiential learning in this lab with various live project challenges given by experts from IBM and university faculty members.
Strong focus on the right set of foundation and specialized skills in the courses ensures that students are rightly mapped to the high industry demands in these areas. The potential recruiters including large IT players like Infosys, TCS, HCL Technologies, Cognizant, IBM, Dell, Wipro, Accenture etc. need the skills and manpower in these specialized areas and present good offers. Various analysts (Gartner, IDC, Forrester etc.) and industry bodies like NASSCOM have repeatedly highlighted the gap and manpower shortage in the areas of Cloud, Analytics, mobility etc. Their studies indicate that in next few years the requirement of skilled manpower in these areas is going to increase whereas the supply may fall short. This indicates that ones that are skilled in such technology growth areas would be much sought out and may be demand premium.
While the degree is issued by the university, the students also receive a certificate of completion jointly from IBM and the university highlighting the course and specialization as per the program requirements.
What is the fees of the ICT?

Being one of oldest institute clearly proves its inclination towards education. There are so many graduates already pass out from the Computer Engineering and Information Technology department, ensures a good reputation in the industry. Our students are also at a higher position in many industries and some of them are entrepreneur also, which helps in very good placement of the current students.

Almost all the teaching staff, teaching in B.Tech. courses are having their masterâ€™s degree. Some of them are also pursuing Ph.D. degree.
As per the norms the institute also maintains the staff/student ratio 1:15 for all its courses. This ratio ensures the regular teaching and timely completion of syllabus in all subjects.
Because of the institute policy to pay as per norms to the teaching and supporting staff, it has got well experienced and dedicated staff. Most of the teaching faculty in all courses are having at least 3 years experience (which is a very good score as per AICTE) and many of them are having 5 years and some of them are also having more that 7-8 years experience.
The institute gives enough emphasis on regular teaching work, So that covering full syllabus and timely completion of syllabus in all the subjects.
GNU-ICT provides an e-learning platform- called Moodle. It is a Course learning management system (CLMS). Some typical features used are: Assignment submission, Discussion forum, Files download, Grading, Online calendar, Online news and announcement (College and course level),Online quiz ,Wiki etc. Faculty maintains regular online attendance through moodle system, for all the classes and for allvthe students. This ensures the regularity of students in the class and laboratories. It also enables the parents to check the attendance any time through internet.
Being a university, the institute has little freedom to design their own syllabus in collaboration with the industry and as per the latest technologies in the market. The syllabus is also updated regularly as per the need.
The library possess more than 30,000 books, CDs of Video lectures, Journals, Magazines, EBooks, etc. It has a spacious reading room with comfortable seating arrangement. The library has got computer with internet facility to access the online journals and other resources.
As compared to other state university, Ganpat University gives enough weightage to practical component for counting marks. It is observed that sometimes student is week in explaining theory or he/she could not represent what they know in writing, than if, they can perform well in practical/viva examination, they can score good marks and finally secure good results. It is quite obvious that engineering is all about practical implementations of theory, so one should not forget the practical component for evaluation.
The institute assist in final semester full time training to ensure the proper hands on work and industry practices adaption.
We have tie-ups with some of the job-placement agencies for off-campus placement.
Students are motivated and supported by the institute and faculty for participating the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities outside the college. They take part in state, national and also at international level sports and technical competitions, like Google Summer Code, IIT Techfest, Scatting, Cricket etc. They also won the prizes and bring name and fame to their parents and institute.
The university ensures timely assessment of papers and declaration of results and declaration of results, so that the students of final year can avail the job or they can apply for master degree with their B.Tech. results.
